Thanks for sharing Melanie Rockett, and the concept of social proof makes perfect sense. We do judge an article’s value by the number of claps, which in turn impacts whether we click on it and read the article. If 47 other people clapped for it, it must be a good article, right?
I’ve also noticed that at the bottom of the article (once clicked on) it doesn’t always list the number of claps, but the number of people who clapped…I wonder if this is another version of social proof?
